Bill Gates
Bill Gates, the principal founder of Microsoft Corporation and one of the richest men in the world, is also a fan of Feng Shui.
His home is said to be located at an ideal point in the hills according to feng shui principles, with a mountain behind it to offer protection and support, and a dragon and tiger on each side of the home is believed to energize it. Lake Washington in front of it rounds out the energy.
What is Feng Shui ?
Feng Shui simply means “wind” and “water” and together the words represent harmony and balance. It is the ancient practice of placement which brings harmony and balance.
This ancient art is based on the flow of energy or “chi” through the universe and its influence on our daily lives. The practice was first established over 6,000 years ago.
If the energy in our environment is hindered or not flowing correctly it can cause disharmony. Feng Shui aims to balance energy in order to attain greater happiness, well-being and productivity.
This compatibility with natures elements is accomplished by the placement of furniture and other objects in the home or office.
According the Feng Shui, relationships, wealth, success and health are relative to the arrangement of our belongings which can be improved with the universal life force of chi.
What is the CHI ?
Chi is the invisible energy or life force that surrounds everything and binds life together. It is present in the atmosphere and in and around us. Chi can be present itself as matter or energy, it can be visible or invisible. We are constantly changing so this energy is in a state of flux, but is essential for our mental, physical and spiritual health.
Chi manifests itself in different shapes and colors.
Chi, or feng shui energy, is manifested in yin yang characteristics and in a variety of forms according to the feng shui five elements theory.
The main goal in feng shui – no matter which feng shui school principals you apply – is to attract, direct and nourish the Chi flow inside your home in a way that supports a good flow of Chi inside your body.
